Got Cake?

Hi everyone. I’m helping again this year to coordinate the upcoming Cake Walk event at the Sock Hop/Cake Walk this coming Friday, January 27 from 6-8pm. Although the request for help and donated baked goods have been sent out through normal channels, I thought I’d send out this special request to all of you generous and talented folk that brought delicious desserts last year and also to fantastic bakers that I know. Please also pass this on to other OV families that you know that might be up for the task!

When: Next Friday, Jan 27, 6-8pm

What to donate: Either homebaked or purchased nutfree desserts. Examples are cakes, pies, cupcakes, tarts, cookies/bars.

When to bring it: Friday, before end of school, bring it to the front office, they will probably ask you to put it in the teacher’s lounge, or after 3pm, bring it to the multipurpose room.

Info to include: A brief description of the dessert

Portability: Please try to prepare it so that it is easy to transport and display

Also we are looking for volunteers to help make the event a fun one. The Cake Walk/Sock Hop is a popular fun event and is usually well attended. We can use all the grownups we can get. I could definitely use some helpers to man the cake area and distribute winning desserts, and also help with crowd control for the Cake Walk game.

Karen Gee has set up an online sign up sheet at: http://www.volunteerspot.com/login/entry/282345631931214079 or if you can drop me a quick reply too.

If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help and participation!! (hopefully!) warm regards,

Christine
