Art Fair at the Ocean View Open House: May 24, 2018

Thursday, May 24th, Ocean View will hold its annual Open House from 7 to 8 pm. Classrooms will be open for families to visit. There will also be the fabulous Art Fair in the Library and Science Fair in the MultiPurpose Room, both from 6 to 8 pm.

Your student has been working on a masterpiece for the Art Fair. Pre-purchase a mat and frame for your child’s artwork by May 23rd and the artwork will be framed and on display at the Art Fair.

Mats and frames will also be available at the Art Fair to have your child’s artwork framed on the spot, while supplies last. Due to space constraints, only pre-purchased framed art will be on display at the event.  (If you do not purchase a frame your child’s artwork will be sent home at a later date.)

2017 Walk-a-thon: October 21

Ocean View Fall Festival & Walk-a-thon

Walk-a-thon: 11:15 am – 1:30 pm

This annual family-friendly event is Ocean View’s biggest fundraiser, allowing the PTA to support a variety of enrichment and community programming throughout the year for all classes. Entrance to the event is free and tickets are sold for activities, games (with prizes) and food. Questions? Contact ebbadlr at


  • CARNIVAL GAMES with prizes: skee ball, golf putt, football toss, duck pond, ring toss and more!
  • ACTIVITIES: pumpkin patch, pumpkin decorating station, glitter tattoos, crafts, etc.
  • AUCTION: gift certificates for restaurants, stores and theaters, Disneyland Park Hopper 4-Pack and other awesome items.
  • FOOD: Fat Daddy’s BBQ and Martha’s Mexican food trucks are back, along with homemade sweet treats at the bake sale, and more!
  • WALK-A-THON: Cheer our Otters on as they walk, skip, dance and run around the track to raise money for their school! Live DJ tunes keep those feet moving! Prizes will be awarded to the top walkers in each class, and the class with the highest participation will win a pizza party.

How can your family help?
** VOLUNTEER — Check the packet for information on volunteer opportunities or sign up online – any amount of time you can give is appreciated! 8th graders can volunteer to fulfill their community service hours requirement.
** DONATE — Do you have a vacation rental or season tickets? A valuable service or special goods that could help raise $$ in the auction? Consider donating your item to the cause! Past items have included free photo sessions, one free house cleaning, homemade dessert once a month for a year, a weekend at a Tahoe cabin…
** ORGANIZE — Do you have an idea for an amazing activity to include in this year’s festivities? Let us know if you’d like to organize a craft activity or a carnival game. Our parent community has so much talent to offer!

Buy an emergency kit and help Ocean View students!

Support Ocean View while getting prepared for an earthquake. is selling emergency preparedness kits for the Ocean View PTA. There are different types and sizes of kits to choose from for your home, car and office. All kits contain the basic food, water, shelter, first aid and other supplies necessary to sustain you in the event of a disaster.  The food and water are good for 5 years so you can continue to rely on the kit year after year.  After 5 years, simply replace the expired items, no need to purchase a whole new kit.
100% of Ocean View PTA’s profits from purchases of any items on this website will be used to support the PTA and its programs. Memory Books are here!

Limited quantities of the Ocean View Memory Book are on sale for $20.00.  Please find the order form in your child’s weekly folder.  This is the first year the PTA/teachers are publishing a 68 page hard cover color book with some of your child’s fondest memories!

To buy: Submit your check to the OFFICE, payable to OV PTA-MB BEFORE April 12.

Spring BONUS feature! You have the opportunity to purchase a Memory Book for your child’s teacher(s).  A “Teacher/Staff Wish-List” will be available in the office. This could be a great spring gift to give from your family or an entire class! Each book purchased for a teacher/staff will also include a “certificate of purchase” for you to give to the teacher/staff.
