End of year volunteer opportunities

We are 6 weeks until end of the 2012-2013 school year; there are a few school events we will need your help with. We are using VolunteerSpot for these events, please check your schedule if you are available. Please help make these popular end of the school year events enjoyable.

Open House, Art & Science Fair
Thursday, May 23, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

This event will need volunteers to help our Art Teacher, Mary Ernest and Science Teacher Amanda Cohen. Mary Ernst is looking for people to help with preparations for the Art Fair and the night of the Open House, Thursday, May 23rd from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Volunteers are needed in advance to mat, frame, and set up the art and to sell frames during open house. Amanda Cohen is looking for volunteers to help set up and put ribbons on the science fair projects during the day. Also help as needed for the science fair preparations.

Field Day – Lunch on the Field
Friday, May 24, 11:00 – 1:30 p.m.

This event will need volunteers to help students navigate to the field for lunch. We will also need help with coordinate small group activities for the students until it is time to return to class.

Talent Show
Thursday, May 30, 5:30 – 9:00 p.m.

This event will need volunteers to help set up the multipurpose room, help the teachers coordinate the next acts, sell food concessions, and help with clean up.

Translators needed for the PTA!

Are you fluent in Spanish, Chinese,  Korean, or Japanese? Did we miss a common language in our school that you can help us with?

We need a few people to help us translate / edit a short letter for a PTA fundraiser. This is the best way for us to reach more of our community so we can keep everyone informed.

Please email Katie Karaca ASAP; the above four languages were translated last year and just need editing for this year’s updates.

Sock Hop – January 25!

SAVE THE DATE FOR THE ANNUAL SOCK HOP & CAKE-WALK ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 25TH!!

Doors open at 6:00 PM and the cakewalk as well as other fun activities will begin promptly at 6:30 PM. Prizes will be available for various activities (hula hoop and jump rope contest etc.) and all activities, including the cakewalk, are free! Starting at 7:30 pm, there will be a crazy sock fashion show so be sure to wear your craziest/best socks!! Food will be available for purchase and please consider donating a delicious homemade baked good to the cakewalk!!

Volunteer needed to help the Ocean View office

Volunteer Need for Ocean View School Help – Once a month until school ends. Every month we have student names to post on a bulletin board for
perfect attendance, sometimes we need copying done, mail sorted, etc..
